There was a serial killer that lived in Witchita, KS.  He admitted to 10 murders, but police know there are more.  He would find random people and make them his next 'project'.  He left clues for the police for 30 years.  For example on the 30th anniversary of his first communication with police, he left a bag of items from some of the victims along with a puzzle that had clues telling them who he was.  On June 27, 2005 he stunned everyone when he waived his right to a jury trial and confessed to 10 of the murders.(10 year anniversary of Jodi's abduction). 

  He used to tell his victims that he was on the run from police and he needed their car or food.  He would try to relax his victims, then strangle them later.  When he explained the 1991 killing, he dug a hole in advance to hide the body.  He changed his MO as he got older and hid the bodies.  Kansas reinstated the death penalty in 1994, so if they can prove any murders occurred after that he could be put to death.  He liked younger women and had pictures of models like Meg Ryan in his home.

  I know Witchita is about 500 miles south of Mason City, but a pretty easy drive up I-35.  I wonder if their were cheap flights from Northwest that went from Witchita to Mason City?  Is it possible Jodi stayed over night in Witchita when she was a flight attendant?  Is there any chance the serial killer was in Mason City for an Air Force event or something?  If it hasn't already been done, might be a good idea to confirm he wasn't there and that he did not have a flight to Mason City that weekend.
