rach and janette - the other thread was "i never knew of this friend"...then revisit "vanished video" thread and read Surfer's post...think about it - maybe the "locals" plotted to do away with the competition.

I believe she is in the 20/20 programs that were done about Jodi. She was interviewed for them.

If that is the theory you have in mind concerning the two men mentioned in that thread, then i dont think its very plausible...and who was the competition eliminated FOR? Ms.K or W.? Im not sure which one you are focusing on here but I think its a bit of a stretch to contemplate this was done for either of them. Also, as a couple posts may have implied, one (or both) of the two were in on it...From whats been known and reported, everyone at the news station were throughly scrutinized and took LDTs iirc. Considering that neither of these women ultimately stayed in the business after failing to reach the top news markets, i doubt they would be so cutthroat as that...
If anything, either one or both of these men, if involved with Jodi's abduction, did it for reasons unrelated to the other newscasters....

If Jodi was looking for a job somewhere else, all they had to do was wait for her to find a job somewhere else. So, this couldnt have been about competition.
It could have been a stupid prank that went terribly wrong. Someone meant to scare her, but she pulled away and slammed her head on the car. Then they panicked and ran with her.
I think someones brother may have been involved if this is the case. But all probably unlikely.

Murders for professional reasons are pretty exotic territory, in legitimate occupations, but if it was a Texas Cheerleader kind of thing, competition could have been the issue. Lots of young women graduate with degrees in mass comm / broadcast journalism and then learn that jobs don't grow on trees, and especially around the old hometown, where they might be thinking of returning. They wouldn't kill but maybe someone who loved them would.
That doesn't seem to include the "someone's brother" this board knows and loves. His sister had a job and had no reason to see Jodi as a threat. If he's of interest at all, it's possible the perp could have manipulated him -- or someone like him, who knew the victim but was at some remove from her -- into inadvertently giving crucial information.
As a side note, I'd suggest we put the name she supposedly said on the back burner. The witness probably didn't hear it clearly and why, if there was something obviously disturbing going on, was it not immediately reported to the police? Could Jodi have actually clearly seen her attacker at that hour?

Your posts seem very thought out and logical, along similar lines to how LE would think...
Because of that, i am extremely curious to know what your theory, or theories, may be...

I just read this https://forensicastrology.blogspot.com/ prior to your thread....why does my mind tell me that there is more here? A connection clicks.
Perhaps he obsessed over his sister's friend? He knew her patterns and that his sister would be alone and busy until airtime...so he had time to do ....well, whatever he did.
His background, physical description, and hobbies more than match this woman's reading....perhaps his act of 'good deed ' in looking for the missing person mentioned in this article is to ensure other searchers didn't find Jodi... Or perhaps he is trying to do good to balance his bad, so long ago?
2:33 pm
Yes I thought very similarly about the physical description...and when I saw a pic of him from 2004 I thought it looked like the sketch, only older...
As for his sister...she was the nightly news anchor and isn't the same woman who was at the station the morning Jodi was abducted...

"At the time of his death, he was sharing a house, garden and hobbies with his close friend RWJ."
That sentence alone contains a strong innuendo that would seemingly put these two men farther out of the realm of possibility in being connected to Jodi's abduction.
This obit did name someone who could possibly be the author of those letters, thus making them, in all likelihood, innocent and unrelated to the case.
Of course, you just never know..

Another hhhmmmm....
I wonder if now she'll say "isn't this cool, Jode...we made it to Rochester!" ala her 20/20 interview?

Grace Esquivel,Gerald Best, and that lady from Hampton there cases have never
been solved or really looked into in my opinion.Jodi dissapeared on June 27th 1995.
All these cases happend in North Central Iowa.A couple more people went missing from
Mason City a year before Jodi dissapeared a liittle boy was found in willow creek in
1994.A Mason city teen was found shot in 1979 I believe.Something doesn't make sense
Why all these people from River City went missing.

Are you all kidding me? Really. Dont you you have anything better to do than come up with these exaggerated and ridiculous speculations? I will make no attempt whatsoever to satisfy anyone's curiosity here, but I will say this...not one of you has ANY clue about my relationship with Jodi and to what degree I did or didn't work with authorities on her disappearance. Perhaps your far reaching and off base assumptions are better left for fiction.

You go Robin!
Bobby was a person of interest with this case and he was investigated thoroughly. He had a solid, unquestionable alibi.
So let it go people.

Don't forget James Perkins, missing since May 1995 while fleeing authorities, body discovered July 2004 northeast of MC. His story had nothing to do with Jodi, but is oddly disturbing, considering recent news.

"Philpott said, “The reason for my concern about the details of the information was that it was vaguely reminiscent of information told to me in the summer of 1999 by Mason City resident Gerald Best at the completion of a church service.
“Mr. Best had mentioned local officers possibly being involved in criminal activities. Mr. Best was found murdered later that year and his homicide is yet unsolved to this day.”
Gerald Best was found dead in his Mason City apartment on Dec. 30, 1999. His throat had been slashed."
