I do find that disturbing. My only question is if Mr Philpott heard this info from Mr. Best and then a year later Mr. Best was murdered, why didnt Mr. Philpott contact authorities back then instead of waiting another 7 years when another person(who is not dead, presumably) relayed similar info. A re-read about Billy Pruin…so disturbing to Me !

The friends of Billy Pruin could not believe he would commit suicide and were shocked by his death. One of the people that was troubled by his death was Jodi Huisentruit. According to friends and relatives of Jodi, she was possibly investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. Jodi was abducted almost three months after the death of Billy Pruin. There have been suspicions Jodi found something out .

One of the people that knew Jodi and Bill is Lanee Good. Lanee sat down with KAAL's Gary Peterson and outlined her doubts about the Pruin death. She believes Pruin was in a hurry to get into his house. He left his keys in the outside lock of the door, crossed the kitchen and entered the dining room, getting his revolver. Somehow the revolver discharged, Lanee believes there was a struggle and Pruin was shot.

Good, when interviewed by sheriff’s officers, said that “she was quite concerned about Pruin's death and the suspicious circumstances surrounding his death". She stated that one of the things that bothered her about the circumstances surrounding Pruin's death was that, later in 1995, a very close friend of Bill’s by the name of Jodi Huisentruit also turned up missing.” Ms. Good stated that this might just be coincidental and possibly can be explained; however, Ms.Good is concerned that possibly the two may be related.

When Peterson asked Deputy Lichman of Cerro Gordo County Sheriff about the information in the report that he investigated, and if that comment was ever given to Mason City Police, he said, “not that he was aware of”. Likewise, Lt. Ron VanDeweerd of Mason City Police Department said he had no knowledge of Pruin’s death until he read the report the first week in May of 2006 when KAAL-TV asked for further information.

According to the Sheriff’s report, there were no identifiable pints on the revolver that Billy reportedly had in his hand. His hands were placed in paper bags, but there is no record of any gunshot residue on them or any of the clothing he had on.

Billy’s fiancé said he was “afraid of something” several weeks before his death.

Jodi Huisentruit had voiced similar concerns prior to her abduction. In fact, she had written her best friend Kelley Torgelson in Mississippi and told her that “she was concerned for her safety, that she was being stalked”. Kelley turned the letter over to Mason City Police right after Jodi’s disappearance. Ironically, Kelley received the letter on June 27th, the day Jodi was abducted.

From what i remember from the Dead Air book, it was stated the gun that killed Bill Pruin was found 2ft from his body, not in his hand; the gun that was used has a huge kickback and it was stated by experts that if someone committed suicide with that it would have ended up on the other side of the room…

Thinking out loud;

Looking for a connection with Best, could he have been the new friend from church Jodi was seen pointing out her apartment from inside her car or his in the parking lot.

That is an interesting theory/connection. I think a look into Mr. Best's background would be very helpful. I guess thats next on my list, lol…

Google "Copper Dollar Ranch Murders" for more information.

I looked at lots of websites and Dead Air. I don't see cornseed's name mentioned as a suspect OR that he has been cleared of involvement in Copper Dollar murders. What specific documents were you looking at?

Although he was the last person to see Jodi alive there is no forensic evidence that he was in any way involved in her abduction.

Similarly although he was living in the same area as the Copper Dollar Ranch there is no forensic evidence that he was responsible for the murders of Melisa Gregory and Steven Fisher.

I don't think the lack of forensic evidence automatically clears anyone. It's my impression that someone is only cleared when there's a definitive statement to that effect from law enforcement. Have you come across any documents, etc.,that do this, especially specific to Jodi's case?

The fact that there was no forensic evidence tying Casey Anthony to her daughters death and that Casey wouldn’t have to try out that new gurney in Starke, FL certainly seemed to make her happy.

More recently Amanda Knox’s learning that wasn’t her DNA on the knife use to kill her roommate and that she didn’t have to spend the next 26 years in that 14th centaury dungeon in Perugia, Italy where the male staff just couldn’t take their mind off of la bello Americano signora made her so happy she became hysterical.

No forensic evidence no conviction.

There was no forensic evidence found implicating cornseed guy because the police never searched his home or his vehicles.

Agree with Simon. The case was compromised from the start by poor forensic work. And I have seen nothing to indicate that Cornseed is cleared. I believe that he's still, after all this time, a person of interest in Jodi's disappearance.

He is still a "person of interest" in the Newton case.

I have some photo drawings I would like to send to those of interest. My name is Joe, people call me MJ. I was in the middle of a meditation to draw a picture someone who is deceased within a friends house. While getting ready to draw a picture I began to hear and feel things realted to a TV or News Anchor, missing, dead and Iowa. Believe me when I say I tried to push this out and focus on what I was trying to do. The more I pushed the more it started to become more clear. I felt a males presence telling me "no!!"

I started to draw this picture and then jumped on the computer and searched "TV News Anchor, Missing, Dead and Iowa".

The man I seen was tall 5'11"-6'1", thin to average build, dimple chin and long silk/ frizzled hair.

MJ

I can't get your link to work. Can you send them to me at [email protected]. Thanks
