I just looked at pictures of the Chevy cargo van from that era, and it looks remarkably similar to the Ford Econoline. Lights and everything are in the same positions. I would like to know what the parking lot looks like at night, with lighting conditions and such, and how much of the van could actually be seen. I think someone should do a test with a white or light cargo van from the same era, in the position that the witness saw it, both Chevy and Ford, with the parking lights on, while someone else drives southbound on Kentucky to see what the van looked like to the witness. Does anyone know what kind of vehicle he drove that morning-car or minivan etc? to get a better test. Maybe post a video of this on the website. I am very curious as to what it looked like in the witnesses eyes that morning. I am also confused about the parking lights of the van. Were they the emergency flashers, or a solid light on the side of the van. The supposed van could also have been as new as a 1991 Ford Econoline, as that body style was produced up until 1991. I think there was too much focus on a mid 80s Ford.

Just throwing this out there. I see white vans drive past me on the interstate all the time. I recently realized, I am seeing the same set of white vans. They are used by Union Pacific and are used to transport railroad personnel to different sites. I know that there are railroads that go through Mason City and UP has a facility there, as do other railroad companies. Just wondering if this angle had ever been considered.
