FindJodi billboard vandalism went unsolved

By Scott Fuller @FullerOnAir · On January 12, 2021

On January 1, 2020, the FindJodi billboard on North Federal Ave. in Mason City was defaced with spray paint and the name of a long-time former Mason City Police investigator, along with the words “machine shed”.

Was this a tip related to Jodi’s unsolved case? A prank having nothing to do with her disappearance? Something else?

FindJodi has obtained a copy of the Mason City Police Department Incident Report for the vandalism.

It reveals that the investigation was closed after four days, due to lack of leads. One item of evidence was logged by the department.

The MCPD Incident Report generated from the January 1, 2020 defacement of the FindJodi billboard in Mason City.

FindJodi continues to receive useful tips about the billboard vandalism.

Even if this incident of criminal mischief is never prosecuted, we’re still interested in the motivations behind it.
