I was just looking at some of the articles surrounding the 14th anniversary of Jodi's disappearance. What I found was the sad reality of what is happening to this case.

I remember when I used to work for KAAL-TV in Austin, Minnesota. Gary and I worked together at the time. I remember it was pushing the 10 year anniversary and all the buzz was surrounding the case. Maybe that's because it was the 10-year...and that is a pretty significant anniversary.

But each following year, most websites, TV and radio stations picked up the story and did a story about the anniversary. There was plenty to read about the case each time June 27th came and went.

This year was different. KIMT-TV ran a story. It was short and to the point. A much different picture of what they've done in the past.

WOWT-TV in Omaha, Nebraska also ran a story. I was surprised initially by this...but as I looked closer, it was written by Brian Mastre, who, if my mind serves me well, worked at KIMT-TV when Jodi disappeared.

My point is, coverage is going away. Surely it will explode if a body is found or a suspect is nabbed relating to the case...but for the time being, the only thing keeping this case alive is this website or efforts by people directly affected by the case.

So hats off to those of you who continue to visit this website, post in the forum and bring your ideas to the table. You're truly the last hope in this case.

Unfortunately Josh, that's life, people move on but the flame of people like us who are passionate about finding the answers to bring those responsible to justice and locate Jody will I hope never burn out until we succeed.

Everyone who reads these posts and never posted on their own, please all ideas are welcome ideas trigger others that may eventually lead to a break through. If you worry about sounding foolish please don't, if the questions or your comment is burning inside you please let all who care about Jodie and this case know what your thinking. I don't think the animal(s) who did this will ever join the human race, but friends and acquaintances who can't stand it anymore, let us know what you know and use the tip line if you feel more comfortable.

That's my take, I hope I didn't bore anyone.

Hi Josh,

I'm with you on the coverage of Jodi's case. I was surprised, too, by how little we saw this year. No offense to KIMT, but I was surprised at the small article I saw on the website, and I had hoped that perhaps they did more on their actual newscast. That's great that at least WOWT via Brian offered some sort of update.

If I'm speaking out-of-turn, someone let me know, but I am surprised, as I indicated in a previous post, that CBS News hasn't done more on Jodi's case. I know that when it first happened in 1995 it made the "CBS Evening News" and "Up to the Minute," but I think it deserves a full hour on "48 Hours," especially since Jodi worked at a CBS affiliate. I just don't understand it.

Vinny, What a nice post, and you are never boring. I was initially afraid to post on here, worried I would say something 'stupid' or sound 'off-topic.' I think the posts are wonderful, and I think it's great that you encourage all to post. As Josh and Gary have stated, the ideas generated here could prove more helpful than we ever imagine! Even though I didn't know Jodi, her case really touched me, especially since I used to be in the same line of work. I have always felt so sad for Jodi and her family, and I just hope one day we will know what happened and that, above all, justice will be served to punish the person or persons responsible. It's been a long time coming, but I think if we all keep hope alive and keep the ideas fresh, the guilty party or parties will be exposed and justice will be rendered for Jodi and her family.

Hey, since I live in the midwest. I have a cable access show, just got done advertising for it. Probably picked up a few more viewers then what I did a year ago when it started.

If I get permission to air the Husentruit Files from Gary or whoever all I need permission from,I'll run it on my tv show in 2 weeks. I am backlogged by at least one show, then I can air it.

I'll need a link to download it.( preferably )or send me a dvd and I'll put it on my show.

What ya say guys?

Maybe a new movie needs to be made by Gary. One that mainstream media would jump on.

Thinking.....because we cannot let this die. We need to think outside the box.

I would really like Josh and Gary to collaborate on a book about the case. This could draw interest from cold case squads, other PI's and maybe just maybe some hard leads from people who know something and have said nothing to date.

Good idea Vinny.

Maybe even do a movie re-enactment of the events ,the events we know as fact.Sometimes when you watch a re-enactment you see things flowing together.

Alas, unless LE open their case files it would be a very short movie.

I was going to attempt a time line but what do you cover after the abduction in the car park?

Okay, that is mostly in jest but really it's about time the investigators opened up a bit.
It seems any new information passed onto to LE disappears into the big black hole where Huisentruit file is stored.

I have posed this before.......how do we get a cold case squad to review this case?
Do the remaining family members have any rights at all?

It seems the MCPD are now waiting for the perpetrator to get a guilty conscience and arrive on their door step with a full confession and map pointing to where Jodi is.

I was contacted a while back by someone who responded to a question I had but answered under the guise that it was more physic in nature. I never saw the name of the individual ever post here but they could easily go by another name. Some of the information he stated was that the car or truck was very loud (like a broken muffler) you can hear it fading away in the distance for quite sometime because it was early in the morning. Indicated that the driver made several turns lefts and rights. that the person who abducted her didn't know she was dead until later, (could have thought she was knocked out).

I don't know about putting to much faith in physics but that part could have been a ruse. I will never know if this person was actually speaking from first or second hand knowledge.

Maybe someone should try to get a job as Chief of the Mason City police dept. just to get a good look at their files and crack the case from within. If they won't let cold case investigators look at it,then it's time to be embedded inside.
