Jodi's Abductor

The facts of Jodi's case match up with a suspected serial killer on death row in WY. He was convicted of the "Lil Miss" murder in 2004 and is suspected to be the Great Basin killer. The Great Basin area covers multible states including WY, UT, and Co. Dale Wayne Eaton is his name, and it is well known that he roamed many states looking for "work" as a welder or as a mechanic. The states that Dale are know to have visited are WY, ID, UT, CO, KS, and NE. Jodi lived only one state east of Dale's known "working" area. It is not hard to believe he could have roamed into Iowa looking for "work". It is known that Dale was collecting unemployment in April 1995, it is not a stretch to believe Dale took a road trip because he had the money and he had the time. The Great Basin murder investigation was also getting alot of attention at that time. I believe Dale went looking in a new state to find "work".

Other interesting facts about Dale that match up with Jodi's abduction are...

- Dale used a 1985 pale green Dodge Van to roam the country. This matches witness descriptions of the strange light colored van outside Jodi's apartment in the parking lot.

- Dale always selected smaller framed victims looking for an easy target. Jodi was a small women and in many ways resembled Lisa Marie Kimmel (Lil Miss).

- The abductor struck Jodi from behind in a surprise attack. Dale is guilty of a simular attack on Lisa Kimmel just before he killed her.

- Dale was from WY, he could have kidnapped Jodi and left for WY that same morning. In this case there would be very little evidence of the van because he was probably several states away before anyone even knew their was a problem.

Dale was a lone wolf, he was always on the look out for an easy victim. When no easy prey could be found he was also able to stalk a victim looking for an easy opportunity. His suspected 20+ year career as a serial killer proves he has the inteligence to do so.

Dale probably first saw Jodi on TV after one of his failed early morning hunts. He focused in on her because she was small, innocent looking, and may have reminded him of past victims like Lisa Kimmel. Dale knew Jodi was an early morning riser for her TV work, all he needed to do is find her residence. He could have followed her from the TV station to find her residence and just watched her routine. He most likely setup the abduction knowing he would be leaving Iowa for WY, thus leaving little, to no, evidence behind.

Dale Wayne Eaton is on death row in WY and is scheduled for execution on Feb 12th, 2010. It is not likely that he will admit to Jodi's abduction and probable murder. There is one way to prove or disprove his guilt and that is with the only piece of evidence the abductor left, a palm print. If the palm print can be compared to Dale Wayne Eaton this theory can be verified to be true or false. Either way it is worth the chance to find out what really happened to Jodi, and a chance to give her loved ones some peace if possible.

This is quite interesting. However, it would seem logical that Mr Eaton's plam print would have been ruled yea or nay by now.

There is another twist to this case. Why did it take so long to report Jodi missing. A co-anchor spoke to her and she said she was on her way. I read she lived very close to the studio yet there was a lapse in time that the police were alerted. That has always bothered me.

The lapse of time is always longer when people or police don't suspect foul play. The news anchor women woke jodi up and new she was going to be late, she may have been trying to give her extra time to get to work before getting worried.

Anyway, I am glad someone reviewed my post. I only hope someone will look into this guy because he really fits all the evidence. It only takes a wired picture of a palm print to rule him out. I have subitted my post as a tip also and I sent a copy to Mason City police... no reponse. I just want some one in authority to check this out. I know the police are busy so I'm not so sure anything has been done to rule him out. I don't think the Mason City police have even considered this guy and probably won't because of he is from WY. If you read "The murder of Lil Miss" book you will see what road warrior Eaton was, and that it's not hard to believe he got obsessed with Jodi via TV while traveling through.

Do you know some one I can contact to insure Eaton was eliminated as a suspect. What about Jodi's sister... wouldn't she be interested to know? Do you know how I can contact her about this?

I have pondered this aspect too.
Was there something 'in house' regarding this case?
I thought that with Jodi not showing up at work within 20 minutes of the 'wake up' call some alarm bells might have been going off at the station.
