The Mason City North end “Find Jodi” billboard has Been graffitied with the writing “Frank Sterns machine shed”

I thought this would be relevant news to report as this graffiti was done on New Years Eve as far as I can tell. As we all know, law enforcement are out in full on this night so whoever did this, I believe was attempting to make a statement.

It just strikes me as odd that someone went to the trouble to climb up onto a billboard and write that. I'm just really bothered by this. I have to wonder if it was someone who possesses genuine information but was afraid it would be "lost," dismissed, or ignored if they reported it by the proper channels. They might have even feared for their own safety but couldn't bear to keep silent anymore. Are there any cameras nearby that might have caught the vandal in the act, to give a clue who it might be?
