Gary,I checked out a few places east of MC and south east. As soon as I get time I will open up a new set on my flickr account and post pictures. This week I got on 12th street and headed east and took pictures on the way. Also have some theories in that direction, but still think my post of ((Maybe more than a Possibility))... is the most valid. However, I did check a lot of other places this last trip and am alway open to others senerior until Jodi is found.

Concrete (in a variety of forms) and wire are ideal for holding a body underwater.
Or, dare I suggest it, a boat anchor.

What is the basis for the new thoughts such as:

The body is north east of the crime scene.
The body is in water.
The body is within an hour's driving of the crime scene.

I'm not doubting these ideas but rather I'm wondering if they are based on hunches or more critically, information we posters are not aware of.

Is it worthing investigating who in Jodi's circle of friends had considerable knowledge of bodies of water in the area?

If Jodi overslept and was scared why would she even go outside.Why wasn't a cop leading her to work.

I really don't think so though anything is a possibility. Do you think the kidnapper was staying at the Mason City Campground by jody's Apartment,People never really think of this the man or men who kidnapped jodi could have been staying there for weeks or even months people do like to camp in the Summer time just a thoery.

I lived in N.Iowa for a decade and am familiar with the area. Here is my take on the 'new approach'. I know that many of you arent as familiar with the area and live in different parts of the country. I have a few points I want to put on the table here:

Yes, the route out of town on 12th street seems to be the most logical route to take to get out of town and into a rural area. Do I think the perpatrator took that route? I don't know? I can tell you this: not very many people head out Northeast of town (other than NIACC commuters). There are no public hunting grounds, no fishing areas, and only two roads lead north before you hit Thrush Avenue. And if you go North, it's the long way to B-20 on gravel roads. You cannot go West to get to 65 until you hit B-20. If you look at mapquest, you see how strange the road geometry is there. In 10 years, I probably drove past those roads on 12th street at least 600 times and never took a turn north on Quince or Spruce.

Another thing to note: is that the roads empty out near Martin Marrietta quarry on B-20. But I do not think the body could be there. I believe they searched the pit in the initial search for Jodi. (please correct me or confirm this if you know) On top of that, it's a very popular swimming hole in the summer and the sheriff doesn't enforce the no trespassing rule there very strictly. It would also be difficult to drag a body down the road and on top of that something to hold it down. IMO, the idea just seems insane and not likely at all due to the level of difficulty of getting the body down there to an area that would conceal it.

In order for someone to be familiar with this area, they would have to be employed in a profession that would take them up that way for work. (Engineering, farming, maintenance, or something along those lines).

There are only a handful of places in North Iowa deep enough to conceal a body (and accessible to deep water without a boat). These places are the first places divers look when someone turns up missing. I believe Big Blue, Portland Pit, Martin Marrietta were all searched. I also believe the pit near Kensett has been searched at one time as well. Many of the quarries that show up in mapquest/google earth now weren't filled in with water in 1995 or were very shallow. Keep that in mind too. Also, many of the pits that seem deep, really aren't. One example are Torkelson pitts west of Fertile. They are probably only 15 feet deep max with gradual slope. Not ideal to hide a body.

As for the rivers, they were searched and they have gotten VERY shallow in a few select summers in the early 2000s. I'm talking ankle deep on the shell rock (the dam in nora springs also washed out a few years back eliminating the possibility of her being in the water there. As for the Winnebago, it was one of the focal points of the search in 1995.

Look: the person responsible has been a free man/woman for 15 years. That's a long time. They obviously don't want to get caught, and they didn't want to get caught when they hid the body. Bodies get found when they are dumped in the water.

In my opinion: she's not in the water.

There are rumors that she was late on occasion so it wasn't out of the ordinary for her to be running a little late. Now that day she was running [i]really[/i] late. Amy Kunns said she asked the typical questions, what time is it?, etc. Note: Amy Kunns uses the word 'typical'. "The typical questions." - as if she had callen her before to wake her up when she was late. A refining statement if you ask me.

One thing I find odd about the case is that every time Kunns has spoken on camera, it's as if she was reading a prepared statement, and she has stuck to that prepared statement all these years. A little strange in my opinion. One thing that does slip up is that she said she's scared for her own well being and that she has her own theory......

I believe in one of the Video's jodi met a man from IC at a local golf tournament or at a country club bar somemthing like that.Was the man her sister or friend talked about ever interviewed at all in IC.
