Since I started this thread I have discovered there was blood involved in the palm print so that answers my question on how LE deduced it was the perpetrators print.

Thank you for coming on board to the forum. You are absolutely right when you say "perplexing". I have always believed that Jodi's abductor knew that Jodi would be coming out of the apartment building and going to work. Normally she would have been gone by 3:15 a.m. but this morning, for whatever reason, she overslept and Amy Kuns called her somewhere around 4 a.m. The reports of witnesses hearing screaming were about 4:30 a.m.

There might have been more than one vehicle involved. The jogger said she was nearly hit by a car coming out of the parking lot and turning south on Kentucky at approximately 4:30 a.m. The car did not have its' lights on and exited the parking lot at a high rate of speed.

The van seen by Randy Linderman actually had its' four way flashers on city near the door Jodi would come out of. I can't see attracting attention like that but one of my theories is that the drivers of the vehicle were faking a flat tire on their van and were behind it opening the door, getting out the jack, and "tire wrench" at the time Jodi came out the door.

Oh, the blood is believed to have come from Jodi's head hitting the rear view mirror.

I hope this has filled in some of the blanks. Welcome aboard.

Thanks for the welcome.:)

I'm thinking the jogger should have heard Jodi's scream. Abductions happen quickly and my guess is Jodi was over-powered, bundled into a vehicle and out of there in a minute or several seconds less.
The perpetrator/s wouldn't want to be hanging around the parking lot.

I wonder if Randy Linderman drove by just before the abduction and the jogger arrived 45-60 seconds after. The jogger must have been close to the parking lot at the time of the abduction and close enough to hear a scream. It is worth noting the jogger claimed it was unusually quiet that morning.

I did not see a scream mentioned in the joggers report in the archives here. I wonder why she never heard anything?

From the jogger's article:

It was unusually quiet that morning. When I got to the 4-way stop on Kentucky and State St., I had to jog in place because a car was just opposite of me, coming from the north on Kentucky. It was a small car, similar to the one I had following me; although I definitely can

Thank you for the information.

My thoughts on the jogger hearing Jodi's scream were based on her statement:

'As I approached Key Apts., a car suddenly came barreling out of the parking lot. Its headlights were off. It turned south and was out of control. It seemed like the driver was in a big hurry and agitated. At that point, it turned on its headlights and swerved, nearly hitting me, and then gained control. I jumped over onto the bridge (sidewalk) to my left. It happened so fast I couldn

I wonder too who was in that second car.
It could be it had nothing to do with Jodi's abduction and was somebody late for work although the headlight thing seems more than coincidental. I mean, when you drive in the dark, do you leave your headlights off? I can't see. I HAVE to put those headlights on to know where I'm going. Somebody had practice in "stalking".

The person in the smaller car at the intersection saw that jogger. I would hope that whomever was in that car volunteered information to the police that they were driving by at around 4:30 AM and saw a jogger at that intersection. If the police never heard this, then I'm inclined to think the person in that car was indeed involved in Jodi's abduction.

The second car may also have been a clean-up car...picking up items in the parking lot ( if I recall some things were never found of Jodi's, like a briefcase she owned) or it could have been someone observing the abduction to make sure it was done.

The mystery of the smaller car at the intersection could be cleared up if we knew what kind of car ( make/year) Randy Linderman drove that morning to work.

The jogger did not hear the screams, in fact after the car left at a high rate of speed it was quiet in the parking lot as she approached the entrance. The screams came from at least one neighbor.

I would imagine the car's lights ere off to hide identification of the vehicle. The jogger said the lights on the car didn't come on until it was well down Kentucky Avenue going southbound.

This part of the case puzzles me.
The lady jogger never noticed the white van in the parking lot. Maybe the flashers had been turned off.
She never said she noticed it on the road either.

I am still troubled by the screams. My hunch is the attack on Jodi was fast and violent.
She would have been bundled into the perpetrator's car in less than a minute and the car sped out of there.
Jodi's scream was loud enough to wake people in the apartments but wasn't loud enough to travel maybe 150 yards to a jogger on a quiet morning.

I wonder how many witnesses heard the scream/s and how many heard the name called out.

I'm sorry if I'm harping a bit but I feel 1+1 isn't equaling 2 here.

Can anyone confirm that Jodie was carrying a briefcase and purse that morning?

If you think aabout it, Jodi was already in the car knocked out when it almost hit the jogger, so this is why the jogger did not hear the screams.

CAN YOU POST WHAT CHURCH IT WAS THAT JODI VISITED IN THE WEEKS PRIOR TO HER DISAPPEARANCE.  ALSO WAS SHE ACCOMPANIED BY SOMEONE WHEN SHE VISITED THE CHURCH?  WAS IT A CHURCH SERVICE SHE ATTENDED OR DID SHE GO TO VISIT WITH A MINISTER?

I've always wondered about this, too.  I heard she attended church with a young man and I've wondered who that was.  However, I think there was a third man in the equation -- not the man she went to church with or the man she had befriended over the previous year.  I think the third man was the one who got Jodi's first friend's ire up, because the third man had deep pockets.  There are some posts on this forum about the third man's identity.
