I have been researching this subject and I have some question. What time was the golf tournament that was attended the previous day? What time did she get off work? I would also be curious as to what times she was watching the video? I think it has been posted that she did make call that night as well. Also one thing I would like to know is, was their beer cans found in the apartment?

I think if I remember right, In the Dead Air book, when the group of friends that had been to the lake water skiing got rained out they went to J VanS's house and watched the birthday video.....that book had said that she was never at his house often at all, a couple of times reported by neighbors ) If thats the case, and she was not intending to lead him on, just a friendly gal, I have a hard time believing she was at his house watching the video AGAIN after drinking with other people all day at the tournament...he was probably pissed because he had no control of her all day...who was there? who did you talk too? why couldn't I have gone with you? I'm the one who loves you! Don't you understand that? .....He also had a gal on the back burner, one who would go for walks, wait in the wings,,,,didn't he leave town with that same women? She may be interesting although very loyal....

Dead Air was a real good read and I trust the research that had been done.

Just my thoughts....

all those Lagoons around the chicken farms gross me out too and are easy to throw something across, tie on too a subject and drag them to the middle...they grow over with greeness and unable to see. Chemically treated too aren't they? I'm sure he was quite creative in his mission.

I lived in an apartment complex. In the complex their was over 30 residences. People may have thought it odd that the banging on the door did not get noticed. When you live in an apartment you get use to noises and people banging on others doors. The only time I noticed was when it was a different voice other than the regular people. When that happened where we lived  we would take note to go and see what was happening or at least look and see whom it was. I am beginning to think that she was never at his home that evening. I am not going to keep watching a birthday video of a party that was given for me. Lies are like a house of cards it does not take much to make them crumble. I am of the opine that before you could get a conviction you will need to the body and that may be what they are waiting on. BTW I do not think she is far from the apartment complex.

What did you mean about the lagoons around the chicken farms????

the lagoons are those square bodies of water used to process the waste from the chicken/pig barns. In the open, with easy access, with No lighting at night. Very remote. There is little to no traffic on the gravel roads in the neighboring counties with lots of barns. This is only a theory.

Mr. Ethics,

From what I have read on here there were beer cans in the sink.  4 of them if I remember correctly.  I don't know what time the golf tournament started or ended but JVS claimed to have had Jodi at his apartment sometime between 730 and 9 so it was over by that point although many speculate she actually did not go over there that night.  It has been confirmed that she made a phone call from her apartment between 9 and 930 so she was home at that point.  Rather she left after that or not I don't think is known but probably wouldn't make alot of sense for someone who had to work as early as she was supposed to the next day.

Just a thought, On one of these threads I read JVS took a man's last breathe since leaving Mason City and was acquitted, yes? Arizona perhaps. That seems rather violent and Seems mysterious. For that individual to be placed under those circumstance and being a man in question in other serious crimes is bothersome. Anyone else think so?

Summer,

Beth Bednar discusses your question about one man's connections with other serious crimes in Dead Air.  It's a fascinating book and I highly recommend it

I bought the Dead Air book and yes it was very fascinating, although I do not remember reading about being acquitted for the murder of a homeless man in the book. Was that in there or was that since the book? Nonetheless, when a person is acquitted doesn't mean they didn't do the crime. It could mean botched evidence or mishandling by the police. ...(I have a case in mind MCPD mishandled and a man convicted was retried and is walking about freely. That's a whole other tragedy.)

they are digging into the background of one of the security guards. Perhaps it would be interesting the them to know that JVS was not cleared as a person of interest in Newton case and the last person to have seen abducted anchor woman.

Over the years I think EVERYONE has looked at this guy as a very possible even probable POI in this case, but based on the articles linked above he had absolutely NOTHING to do with that man's death.  I had read on a previous thread that JVS "beat a 70 year old man to death" in AZ.  Not even close to true.
