First of all I would like to thank everyone for their participation on this website. We try to make it a resting place in the search for Jodi Huisentruit. Both Josh and I share the belief that the only reason we are doing this is to find out what happened to Jodi and how we can bring her home. This takes priority, in my opinion over the possibility of finding the person or persons responsible.

The Radio Show "Cubanarama" is a tremendous vehicle in getting the word out about Jodi and what people suspect happened. I thank the rest of the panel and the host and co-host for their efforts in taking this under their wings. Thank You!!!

I have said all along that investigating a case like this is like walking through a valley. Many people are intent on where they are going that they fail to look at the sides of the valley. Don't fall into that trap. Keep an open mind and from time to time sit back and review the information you have gathered. A prime example of this would be who many people think had something to do with this crime. I am not thoroughly convinced that I share that opinion. I think too much emphasis on thinking of 2 or 3 people might cloud your vision of "the sides of the valley." Don't let that happen.

Now, for some of the questions: The video was shot by someone at the birthday party for Jodi at Sully's Bar in Clear Lake. According to Jodi's Journal John VanSice served 150 pork burgers. It must have been quite a party. Anyway, I have never seen the video tape. I have asked to do so a couple of times but always greeted with a "No" by LE. As far as I know there is only the original tape in police custody. This, according to reports was the tape surrendered by JVS to the LEC the morning of the abduction.

I interviewed Lanee Goode at her residence in Wisconsin several years ago. She is very anxious to get Jodi's disappearance solved as well as having someone re-open the case of Billy Pruin in April of 1995. I have looked at the Sheriff's report and her interview and she stated in there that she believed the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit was connected to the "murder" of Billy Pruin. That was her opinion and not that of investigating officers. I believe Lanee's interview had been in the archives.

More on Lanee and her connection to the case: She met John VanSice near the Key Apartments that morning and spent the day with him. They had dinner and then spent the night at his duplex. She said they talked a lot about Jodi and how each of them remember her. Lanee was the manager of the OP at the time and John and Jodi were frequent visitors, along with Billy Pruin. She had never been interviewed by MCPD even though she came forward and offered information.

The disposal at a hog farm has come up again. I spent a lot of time interviewing the person that had the conversation and nothing ever came of it. I do believe that LE checked it out and found nothing credible.

We continue to plod along, talking to people and offering whatever background we can. Someday I might find a confidental posting that tells us where Jodi was disposed of. Until that day we can only hope that whoever is responsible will come forward and offer up that information. I speak to Joanne, (Jodi's sister) on a fairly regular basis and she and her family need for this to be closed so Law Enforcement can put a stamp on it and move it from the "Cold Case Files" to the box marked; "Solved" courtesy of MCPD and the Department of Criminal Investigation. Maybe with a little bit of help from "findjodi.com"

I would like to follow up Gary's comments. I'd like to thank everyone for coming to the forum and using it to generate ideas and keep Jodi's case active. That is what pushes us closer to getting it solved and preventing it from becoming a cold case.

As for some questions still lingering:

The 'black truck' that followed Jodi was actually a WHITE truck. This was recently confirmed by Mason City Police Department after some closer review of the case files. This was a major surprise to Gary and me because for the longest time, we always believed it was a black truck.

We've just received this information - so I want to let everyone know so we're all on the same page. That is why Lieutenant Stearns named a WHITE truck in the Nancy Grace special.

As for the palm print, it was never a bloody palm print. As far as we know, NO blood was found at the scene. But it is important to keep in mind, the palm print could have been from the suspect, from Jodi or even from a detective working the scene that morning. So just because we have a print, doesn't mean it's the answer to who did it - but we're hoping it is.

The print was tested years ago against the print of Thomas Corscadden, a sex offender from southern Minnesota but it was not a match.

Just a few updates for you. We'll let you know when we have more.

Thanks again for using the forum.

Josh

Also, don't confuse the white van and the white truck. Randy Linderman claimed to have seen a white VAN in the parking lot the morning Jodi disappeared. And Jodi complained of a white TRUCK following her prior to her disappearance.

Gary;

If I remember correctly in your article with Ms. Goode she said something that struck me as interesting. It was related to the time she was going home about 5:AM the next morning after the abduction, abruptly he said she had to go and she casually was walking toward a particular truck of his to be driven home. He then told her to go into a different truck not the one she was walking toward.

It could be nothing but it was a flag. Do you know if the police ever interview her?.

Did she think there was drug activity in the area because of the bridge?

I don't think there is much drug activity in that area. I believe police patrol down underneath that bridge on a nightly basis to make sure of it - especially during summer. There has been a history of vandalism in East Park from kids and teenagers so the police drive down there regularly.

There are two sides to the river under that Kentucky bridge.
On the south side is East Park and you can drive under it.
On the north side under the bridge you can walk underneth it from the path, but really no path under it. It is behind the apartment building. There is a picture in flickr showing grafie written under the beams of the bridge about Jodi.

I dont have it posted, but I took a picture under the bridge in the bushes of a pair of mens underpants. Wonder what the story was behind them???

On the other side of the bridge east from the apartment is a church and a grassy area of the church.

Someone said there were drug deals under the bridge, but which side? The south or north side of the bridge? Vehicles could only drive under the south side, but it was a dead end. I think they close the park at a certain time of night. Not a 100% sure of that. Maybe someone know.

I read somewhere a few days ago Gary's post about going through a valley and make sure to look at the sides. I also listened to the radio program posted the other day.

Got me to thinking. The PI Jim Feldhaus (to my knowledge) had at one point a handful of people who he think did it. He can't name names of course and he never has publicly. I think Feldhaus is a great resource to look at. I think Gary wants us to look at all possibilities, not just one. Jim Feldhaus' quote: there is a difference in knowing something, and being able to prove it.

My questions for you guys to think about: If Feldhaus knows something, the LE knows it.

Why hasn't the police listed them as a POI....or have they??

I'm sure I read where Jim Feldhaus was asked how certain he might be in knowing who abducted Jodi and I'm absolutely sure his answer was 40%.
I remember this because I thought the percentage would have been considerably higher. One has a 50% percent chance in the toss of a coin after all.

Maybe it was a typo or perhaps Jim was misquoted but that forty percent sticks in my mind.

Sorry but I don't have the spare hours to find the source.

Jim posts here as 'the cat' but I haven't sighted him for a while. I could have missed a post of course. Hope he is ok.

I must say I am amazed how a black truck is now a white truck.

It makes me wonder how many other known facts in this case are incorrect.
