For me the 'big three' things making this case difficult to solve are:

Lack of motive. It's difficult to understand why Jodi was abducted.

Lack of witnesses. It seems nobody saw this happen.

No body. Jodi has not been found.

This may or may not figure in to what happened to jodi, but in general, it seems like a lot of Iowans operate on a "keeping score" basis...a lot of them have a chip on their shoulder, especially if they feel they may be being treated unfairly or as if they are always on the defensive for someone honing in on their territory...with jodi being from MN, is there anyone who's motive might have been to "get jodi out of the way"?

Mary, I started working on Jodi's behalf in 2000..5 years after the fact...I am in total
agreement with your theory..I have from moment one (1) thought that Jodi was abducted and
killed for that reason!! Although I dont have any proof that is what happened, I still believe that is WHY she was taken....and hopefull that someday she will be found and returned, so that the family can put her to rest.

You are right I think Sixties, about no clear motive from someone she knew
and I still think it was a fan who had a very unhealthy view of her..and in my reading of some cases, the fan feels if he could only talk to the person, that he would be loved in return!! I do think the abductor tried to catch her, and when she fought him, he hit her hard. I think he got her into his vehicle..and I am guessing that she was perhaps dazed from the strike, and that once he got her away from the parking lot..she may have come to, and started trying to get away from him, and perhaps she might be screaming...and he lost control!!
