Maria Ohl trial could be cancelled

Maria Ohl

Maria Ohl represented herself at the hearing with the Mason City Civil Service Commission in September 2011.

(KIMT-TV) MASON CITY, IA – On Tuesday, an order to cancel the trial for Maria Ohl was filed on Iowa Courts online.

Ohl was fired for allegedly mishandling information about the disappearance of KIMT anchor Jodi Huisentruit.  The civil service commission upheld that firing last September.  Ohl appealed that decision in November in 2011.

A new trial date was set for October 24th.  A hearing between both parties is scheduled for next month. According to the Cerro Gordo county clerk of courts office, the cancellation is still pending and the trial could be continued to another date.
