I joined this site before Beth's book came out. i have read everything on here(and elsewhere i could find)...I have watched the videos here. I heard about this case years ago and have followed it pretty closely the past couple of years before i found this site. There is more info i have found here than anywhere else. Truth is, Cornseed always looked like the most obvious subject(too obvious) so i have explored other avenues and people, posted forensic astrology analysis links, presented other theories, and in the end have gotten debunked by other posters here, either with definitive info or strong beliefs. In all the going around and around, the fact that Cornseed was never cleared will always leave a big question mark. Yes, perhaps he is a red herring, like others i have considered.
Some of the posts here seem so adamant about who didnt do it. I want to see some that are more adamant about who did, other than Cornseed, with links to posts or info that supports the theory. Please.

As for the info Rev. Philpott claims to possess, i would like to know what that is also. Seems to me that if LE is debunking, ignoring and claiming it not credible, then it can be shared so perhaps it can be investigated by other sources.

_Dead Air_ is nonfiction. That should be established.

However, it advances a hypothesis that's not proven and includes much extraneous information and speculation driven by that hypothesis. It has logical ... gaps, some of which I've already discussed here. Many books do.

It's a valuable book, to be read with that caution. Impugning Bednar's motives is really kind of a sideshow. All books are published with the intention of making money. She is honest, in my opinion, but wrong. Let's leave the personal attacks aside.

The witness protection program. I have heard that theory too. If you don't want anybody to know your in there not even your family would know. But I don't see how she could have gotten in there. Don't seem to fit here.

"Im unsure how the drag marks eliminate Cornseed in your mind. He would have picked her up if she was unconscious but if she wasnt she may have fought and got dragged a short way. There is no definitive proof that she was rendered unconscious before she was taken away."

The comments I have heard in the past suggest the height of the person dragging her away. A tall person or a short person. A big tall guy might have picked her up, but a short weaker man would be more prone to draging someone.

After the neighbor heard the big thump where I think she pulled away and then went down hard... there were no more screams. She was either unconcious then or dead.

Im thinking we dont even know WHEN she screamed...maybe by her car..or maybe a hand was put over her mouth, which means she couldnt be carried easily, hence the drag marks when she fought to get away. Maybe when the person opened the door to their vehicle is when she was able to let out a scream. The thump might have been Jodi being thrown in a truck/car/trunk. Just speculating of course. Seems if her key was bent in the lock of her car door, then she was wrenched away, quickly and violently, and they were probably in a hurry to get her out of there.

Dont say we dont know when she screamed!!!

The neighbor heard the confortation like they were restarting an earlier argument with someone she knew. Jodi screamed and then they heard a horrible thump and they thought she was being thrown down on the car or something. Then it went silent... then the noisy motor tore out of the parking lot.

This was from an ear witness. When I questioned the police about it years later after I had talked to them and asked why they only interviewed her once I was told ear witness are not reliable... Bull!!!

Hello Rach - Here are the notes I typed following my phone conversation with Don Milks and his pastor in 2007. I contacted the MCPD in July and August 2007 and requested they retrieve this information, which they did not do. In 2010, when I discovered that the MCPD had no record of my contacts from 2007 with them on record, I contacted the DCI. DCI took this information from me in October 2010, but did not follow up on it for 5 months until February 2011, only after Officer Ohl was placed on administrative leave. Don Milks then was found dead in his home in April 2011.

I then made contact with the Iowa Dept of Justice, who handed me off to the Ombudsman Dept. Andy Teaf at that department began working with me. I forwarded this information to him. He made contact with MCPD Chief of Police Michael Lashbrook and informed the Chief of my complaints. The Chief told Mr. Teaf that his officers had never spoken with me. Mr. Teaf then told Chief Lashbrook that the ombudsman's office was in possession of the informant's information, and asked the Chief if he would like it now. Chief Lashbrook declined.

Here are my notes from the phone call with Don Milks in 2007:

Leave message of best time if no answer. The phone memo was signed by Andrea. Mr. Milks indicated that he wanted me to call him back.

Milks said he had watched Faith in Action recently
Overcome with guilt and conviction
Went to his pastor and filled him in
Has info on the death and disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit
Said he will not work with MCPD officers, as the PD is involved – will not give names over phone
How? They were involved with her socially and she was about to break a story on the PD and corruption
Said officers at the time are now “high-up”
Fears for his safety
Fears for my safety (said I’m a public figure, he said Jodi was, too)
Said he knew people that were involved, they worked with him at a newspaper publisher or warehouse or something – says he has names
Said he knew certain roads where evidence was hidden or buried – says he has names of roads
Stated the drug task force was involved
Said he can’t let the Huisentruit family go on like this any longer
Said he would not meet with anyone but me, and that with his pastor, would come to my church
Said he would meet with me and his pastor at my church
Told him about my sister in law being an honest officer.
Said he would consider talking with her if she was not in official capacity

I spoke with Milks’ pastor. He confirmed the details of what I told him Milks told me. Said he knew Milks for some time. Said Milks had struggled with things from time to time, and had an interesting life, but never knew him to be a liar or misleading. Told me he had no knowledge of Milks abusing drugs or anything. Confirmed where Milks worked and lived, etc. Said they could come here or I could come there, didn’t matter.

Rach you mis-understood. I think when I was told that EAR WITNESSES were not reliable that was Bull. You can not discredit what someone hears. It could lead them to the person responsible.
I was also told it wouldnt hold up in court... they only interviewed the neighbor once. I talked to the witness and they had valuable information about what ACTUALLY happened that morning and several days prior to the abduction.

I suggested they hypnotize them to get information they might have forgotten and of course that was shot down.

I have a friend who hear a murder across the street from her and the sheriff brought over someone to hypnotize her. If they at least find the person responsible they can build a case from there.

Ok sorry i misunderstood.
Hypnosis, while another possible tool for recovering a memory, is also unreliable as it can bring forth false or imaginary ones too. Who's to know for sure without independent corroboration what would be a true or falsely constructed memory brought forth from a variety of info that has sunk into the subconscious?
Along with Psychics' impressions that you and others have posted, and along with forensic astrology analysis that i commissioned for this case(and others), Hypnosis is a tool that, while fascinating and potentially useful, unless it leads to some cold hard evidence(and maybe even after that) would be scoffed at or ignored by major players in LE and the court system(no matter their personally held beliefs on those tools).

From what I read on various news threads, Milks was interviewed by DCI and the Austin, MN police department about his knowledge in this case. This is what was reported about that interview: "Milks told him he had no direct knowledge. His only information was speculation from a woman who was helping him learn a newspaper route several years ago."

So, basically, it was gossip. That's what I heard, too.

This really does shift things in a real different direction. It just don't seem like really anything in this case has really been followed up on.
