The woman jogger story stated that as she approached Jodi's apartment complex three cars came out of the parking lot driving fast one went in opposite direction of the others. Musgrove do you have photos of what that road looks like.
Also Gary I believe you interviewed the jogger did she mention anything about one of the vehicles sounding like it had a broken muffler causing to to be heard quite a distance from the apartments. If so did she remember what direction that car went?.
I realize after so long ago things become foggy but sometimes memories stick in peoples minds and you never forget them particularly after an event that may have costed someone their life.

I brought up the location on Google Maps.

does anyone know what type of vehicle Vansice drove back then?

I have asked if the interview with the lady jogger could be re-posted here.
It was lost when the site was hacked.
There was something about the article that suggested she was a credible witness.
My ailing memory tells me she saw 'a late model car leave Jodi's parking lot at high speed.'

Navyboi;
Maybe if the police questioned a particular witness the question about cornseed guys vehicles become relevant.

There is a whole chapter in the new book "Dead Air", by Beth Bednar, devoted to this(unnamed) jogger...She has some interesting observations about the area and her experiences while jogging it regularly in the pre-dawn hours...There is also her experience and what she saw the morning Jodi disappeared..

Im very confused. I dont get why she handt reported these weird incidents until after jodie disappeared. She waited. I just do not understand why she had. A normal person would of reported it after it kept happenin more than once or twice. I would of atleast. I just do not understand why she didnt say anythin to the police about all those wierd things that kept happening. Like after seein that van there, and then the black kid and the white male standin there at an odd time in the mornin, and the kid following her. Maybe they thought she was jodie? but i doubt that. Personally i just do not get why she did not report those incidents.

None of the incidents seemed to be connected. Since she jogged every day, I'm sure things happened everyday that weren't connected to this case, so reporting it probably didn't enter her mind. She only saw the vehicle that followed her once. She only saw the white male and kid once. I'm sure we all push little things like this out of our minds everyday. Had these things happened to her AFTER Jodi's disappearance, I'm sure she would have looked at them differently. It's easy to look back and think "why" or "why not"...I'm sure everyone who saw the smallest thing that day looks back now and wonders...

Maybe I can shed some light on the subject of why the Jogger didn’t report those incidents earlier.
I lived in Mason City in the 1980s and the place was riddled with drug dealers. There was a guy who rode around town on a bicycle wearing a yellow rain slicker. People told me he was major dealer. A man who lived across from me had people coming to his door at all hours of the day and night. They stayed for a few moments, then left quickly. Someone I knew with ties to law enforcement called this man “The Mafia.” A known drug dealer lived right next door to the then chief of police. And there were rumors that several citizens of Mason City were actively involved in a sophisticated drug cartel along the I-35 corridor that took advantage of the fact that Mason City is almost exactly halfway between Minneapolis and Des Moines.
What I’m trying to say is that, if you lived in Mason City, you knew that there was a very active, very extensive web of drug dealers, both big and small. It’s not hard to imagine that the Jogger assumed the shadowy dealings she witnessed were part of this well-known subculture. The fact that she would jog alone in the dark at a predictable time every morning makes me think that she had a high tolerance for risk and that her alarm bells would be slower to activate than in those of us who have a lower threshold for danger.

That makes alot of sense...It also adds strength to the drug dealer theory once again....

I don't really believe the jogger. No woman in her right mind would continue to jog this area/time of day if it was so dangerous, and she had been followed and targeted by a driver more than once. Especially if she was reportedly "petite and blonde like Jodi" (implying highly noticeable and an easy target for crime.) Waiting so long to come out with her stories doesn't ring too credible with me.
6:26 pm
You think she is a plant deliberately contrived that story to throw people off?
8:57 am
I believe everything the jogger said. I think she is well intentioned. But I also think that most of what she witnessed was part of the drug culture in Mason City at that time. Drug dealers did their business very openly. And I think it's not beyond belief that she would continue running even after crossing paths with some very scary characters. Like a lot of things, running can be an addiction. Remember the Central Park Jogger? Some people are way more risk tolerant than others. I just hope she's being more cautious now.
