Hello! I originally saw the program regarding Jodi and her disappearance a few years ago and every couple of months I come back to this site to catch up on the conversations and see if there has been any new revelations. Throughout this entire time, I am still baffled as to why this case has not been solved? I continue to read posts regarding persons of interest and how the LE is not allowing files to be reviewed.

First of all, why do I sense so much resistance (from LE) to solving this case? I don't understand why they wouldn't be willing to team up with some of the individuals on this case who cleary have so much more information/leads/details about this case. Doesn't that seem weird to anyone else? Additionally, I understand how individuals cannot use this site to slander others and directly blame them for being guilty of a crime it hasn't been proven they committed. However, why be so overly cryptic about who these POI are and why hasn't that information been shared with LE. And if it was, what was the outcome? Finally, I have read there is someone who heard Jodi scream out a name but no one will come forward to say what the name was, nor has anyone come forward publicly to tell their story as a witness (unless I have missed it). If so, again I wonder why be so secretive, cryptic and not share your story.

I just don't understand how this case is so cold given how many people know detailed information on the case, the relentless discussion and the advancement of forensic testing, etc. It just seems this should have been solved a long time ago. What is the hold up? To the moderator and those who know so much about this case - do you have any answers to my questions? I assume you share this same frustration with me, folks who post on this site and Jodi's friends and family. Thank you.

You make many pertinent points CA.

I wonder why LE is answerable to nobody in these unsolved cases?
The relations/family of the victim appear to have no rights at all.

Why can't a cold case squad be called in to review the investigation files?

Why has a suspect never been named?

Sometimes it seems the investigators need to be investigated.

There's something not right here. Let's ask the experts. thecat, muskgrove: what are your feelings why this case hasn't been solved? Why hasn't a suspect been named? They probably have the most knowledge of the case than everyone here.

I would also like to add something to this. How about this speculation:
Maybe the reason why we are seeing a 'silence' about the case is that the MCPD doesn't want people to know how clueless they really are about the crime. They don't want people knowing the reality that they are as close to solving this crime as they were the day it happened. How bad would it look if they answered to the media, "We were closer the day it happened than we are now."

It's possible that they can't release any information because either A. It's not really pertinent to the case, or B. they can't confirm it's accuracy, or C. They don't have much on the case to release.

Most likely it's a combination of all three. The information they have released (white van is basically it) is probably completely innaccurate, and I (and a few others here) discredit it's validity.
