Wow is right....
This is certainly out of left field. In no way did i ever consider that LE could be behind the abduction/disappearance.

Maria Ohl, 36, who was terminated from the police department last month, made the accusations while speaking to the media after a Civil Service Commission meeting.

https://globegazette.com/news/local/former-mcpd-officer-says-police-may-have-taken-huisentruit/article_f6d423e0-d4c4-11e0-bcb2-001cc4c002e0.html

Of course, id be a bit wary of these accusations until i find out why she was terminated; were they made out of retaliation for loss of her job? Definitely would like to know what "credible information" it was that she reported and who it came from.

Ohl said she received credible information from an informant implicating the police officers.

She implicates three Mason City LEOs, one retired. That's crazy! What's the motive?

I had considered this a strong possibility; someone with LE experience could have kept false leads alive and made evidence disappear.

Also, and not to make an overly generalized statement, but there are plenty of cops out there with problematic psychology, and they tend to stick together. So it's highly possible she's telling the truth - as far as she knows it.

Notably, though, let's say there are some bad cops who are hostile to women and there's a pervasive culture of manliness or whatever that caused both a kidnap-murder to go unpunished and unsolved and a female officer to be harassed.

The same kind of psychological problems - including paranoid personality, etc. - could also be leading this former officer to start making wild accusations. The timing does seem suspicious. We'd really have to look at the substance of the information.

I'd be very concerned with whether this information was kicked up to the FBI, who would have no particular reason to cover up for a PD in Podunk....

Did you read the letter this site just posted to Jodi days before her disappearance from the "mysterious" man? Sure sounds like an LE officer wrote it...
If this is true, I am just sick!!! For so many reasons.

If this info is credible I wonder what Jodi had on them.

i remember bringing up this idea in the past, that police were possibly involved, but some of those thread entries somehow disappeared.

Several of us have discussed the knuckle dragging of the police but I would like to see how developments progress before taking this as gospel. I would like to see FBI involvement or someone other than local authorities looking into the accusations.

Now we may have an answer why every few years all we ever got was a new person on the case and the police not allowed to release information because of the "Active Investigation". It just might get active alright, I hope it brings the case and Jodi's whereabouts to a conclusion and those responsible to justice. We can only hope.

I have to admit, my thoughts are all over the place with this one...
In some way, we may have all been subtly manipulated to keep our focus on certain leads and theories that may be far from the truth.
After reading a few posts from last week about some details in the Dead Air book i decided to refresh and read the book again. With the book fresh in my mind and now this info, i immediately thought of the unsolved death of Bill Pruin, a friend of Jodi's. It was noted in the book that Mr. Pruin may have been too vocal about his knowledge of shady drug dealings and such; one theory is he may have been murdered by unknown people for those reasons, and then Jodi abducted for similar reasons. What if Mr. Pruin also had some knowledge of dirty cops being involved?
The allegations by Ms.Ohl adds some credence to the connection as both these crimes have been unsolved for so long. They happened within weeks of each other...

I am also reminded of Cornseed Guy's comment, as related by L.Goode, from Dead Air:
"Why did they do this to me?"

Lately i have felt that this path was beginning to move toward an eventual resolution. Not only because of any recent tips or theories per se, though the publication of the Dead Air book DID bring a change in the air, so to speak....

Of course, again, i believe that these allegations must be cautiously approached until all details of her termination are clarified, and corroboration is established somewhere. Even so, if Findjodi.com has been in contact with Ms. Ohl for 5 months, then those "fine details" mentioned in the homepage article must be compelling...

Which brings me to:

Lacking corroborating evidence, FindJodi.com has decided at this time not to name the authorities accused or the alleged location where Huisentruit’s body was said to be discarded.

Could there possibly be any evidence left at this alleged location? Are there any searches, privately or publicly, being considered at this time?

I recently just finished the book and thought the same about Jodi's friend Bill. What did the police have to do with all these incidents?? With all the details explained in Bill's death it seems upsetting that the police just ruled it intially as a suicide. Also it sounds like Bill was well accepted in the community, which in most communities would create more of a buzz to figure out what had really happened.

Reading the book you also get a good understanding of the drug ring that has been going on in MC. Most communities would take a strong stance to get that under control. I hope they are able to use some of this evidence to bring the truth to this story.

The story seems to have been updated with the names of the police officers.

https://globegazette.com/news/local/former-mcpd-officer-says-police-may-have-taken-huisentruit/article_f6d423e0-d4c4-11e0-bcb2-001cc4c002e0.html

Kind of freaking me out since 2 of these officers are mentioned in the Dead Air book. They handled the case from the very beginning. FWIW the book was published the month AFTER Ms. Ohl made her first contact with this website.

One of these men is the source(from Dead Air) for the raised toilet seat info. He also stated he believed the abduction began in her apt.

Someone sent me an email years ago who claimed the police told Bill Pruins neighbors to clean up the house for the funeral. The carpet was ripped up and burned according to my sourse. All the evidence was cleaned up before it could be properly investigated.

Makes you wonder.

Just read through the copies of these documents. Seems that the last letter from Chief Lashbrook is the key to the truth(or untruth) of these allegations:

https://northiowatoday.com/cutenews/data/upimages/Pastor%20Shane%20Philpott%20complaint%20against%20MCPD%20regarding%20Huisentruit.pdf%5B/b%5D%5B/i%5D

PS i wonder if this website is having problems(Findjodicom). I was booted off, and now there doesnt seem to be any option for signing back in...strange...

I believe Pruin's case was investigated by the Sheriff's Dept. Jodi's case was investigated by the Police Dept. Two separate investigative units, but there could a common thread with the two cases. It would be great if the ex-officer's information leads to a resolution to Jodi's case, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

No it was told that MC police went to Pruins place.

Not sure if I believe it, but that is what someone emailed me. I have no record of who sent the information.

I wonder if theres any way those phone calls can be verified with phone records. Does anyone know how long those records can be available for? Im thinking any calls that come in to a PD would stay on record for a longer-than-usual period of time. The same could perhaps be said of the records of a religious affiliation, also.

Of course, i find it highly unlikely that Chief L would lie about those officers not working the days the Pastor said he called and spoke to them.

Documents of allegations here:
